Welcoming a New Class of UI Health Sciences Students at UIC
2019 Welcome Reception Offers Interprofessional Connection
On Tuesday, September 10, the UIC Offices of the Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs and Student Affairs held a welcome reception for all new UI Health Sciences Students. For the second year, the event was an opportunity for the newest members of UIC's seven health sciences colleges to connect with one another informally and begin making interprofessional connections.
Hosted outside of UIC's Student Center West on Arthington Mall the event was a festive outdoor celebration with music and featured UIC Business faculty and Second City faculty member Ranjit Souri, MBA who presented "Improvisation for Healthcare Professionals." Campus leadership including Assistant Vice Chancellor for Health Sciences Academic Affairs, Michele Mariscalco, MD and Associate Vice Provost for Diversity, Charu Thakral made brief remarks welcoming students to the health professions campus.
