In order for us to better support our health sciences community in their health equity efforts, we have provided this programming/meeting request form for interested groups to submit their idea to the Odeh Center team for review. The Odeh Center Spring 2025 hours are 9-5pm Mon-Fri. You can request the Center for after hours (5pm-8pm) Mondays & Thursdays during Spring 2025. The Odeh Center's maximum seating accommodation is 50. The maximum accommodation for a seat with a table (a plated meal) is 38. Food at Odeh Center programs/meetings will be limited. Approval will be determined through review of this request. Please allow us 5 business days to process your request. You will receive an email from the Odeh Center team confirming whether the request was approved. If your request is denied, we will share more details in that e-mail. For additional questions, please email odehcenter@uic.edu. Please read the following before submitting a programming/meeting request. Please only complete one submission per request:1. Purpose: The purpose of the Odeh Center is to help cultivate community for students, staff, faculty, alumni and neighborhood partners. This is done through education, affinity groups, events, dialogues and advocacy. Thus, we will be opening the space for people from within and outside of UIC/UI Health to submit a programming/meeting request, and will also leave substantial time in the calendar for the space to be open to all to build community and foster this sense of belonging and partnership through studying, working groups, and casual engagement. 2. Adherence to our Community Agreements: All programming/meetings hosted at the Odeh Health Equity Center must adhere to the outlined Community Agreements. This includes but is not limited to, respecting the designated event timeline, adhering to noise level considerations, and complying with any safety protocols in place. Failure for you or your guests to follow these rules of engagement may result in consequences, including the cancellation of the program/meeting. 3. Submit form with three weeks notice: The Odeh Center fills up quickly with programming. We also intentionally leave time for guests to use the space for studying, working, and community building. To receive full consideration with your request, please submit your form at least three weeks before your intended program/meeting date. 4. Room reservation timing will be allotted according to the following: Meetings without food: we will hold half hour before, half an hour after for set-up needs; meetings with food (with approved food request by the Odeh Team): we will hold 1 hour before, 1 hour after for catering purposes; all programming (with approved food request by the Odeh team and without food) - we will hold half an hour before, half an hour after for set-up needs. 5. Cleaning and organizing: Organizations and individuals are responsible for maintaining a clean and organized space throughout the program/meeting. This includes promptly cleaning any mess generated during the event and ensuring that all equipment, materials, or food brought in are removed upon the program/meeting conclusion. 6. Tech: Members of your own reservation team are in charge of your own tech set up and administration. You will be provided with the standard operating procedures manual that the Odeh Center has available at the front desk to set up the tech for your event. 7. Exclusive usage of the center space: No organization other than the one that made the initial event request is permitted to use the requested space. This policy ensures that the reserved space is dedicated solely to the approved event and prevents scheduling conflicts or unauthorized use. 8. Damages or misappropriation: The organization and the person submitting the event request are accountable for any damages or misappropriation caused by guests or non-member attendees. 9. Illness: If you are sick or experiencing a fever, please stay home to prioritize your well-being and prevent the potential spread of illness to others in our community. 10. Cancelation policy: In the event that the Odeh Health Equity Center needs to cancel a scheduled meeting or program, participants will be notified as soon as possible via email, phone, or other communication channels.
